Ameristar St. Charles announced the completion of a renovation of all 397 hotel suites in February 2025. Boyd Gaming’s account describes pale oak furniture, jewel-toned upholstery and a high-contrast interior intended to suggest an upscale high-rise apartment.

The detail is in everyday use

The suites range from 650 to 1,800 square feet. Their custom headboards incorporate power outlets, USB-C connections and adjustable reading lights. Bathrooms received contemporary vanities, granite counters and backlit mirrors. These are small-scale decisions that shape how a guest uses a room, not simply how it photographs.

Putting charging, reading light and bedside furniture into one coordinated element reduces the visual separation between technology and furnishings. Backlit mirrors similarly make light part of a fixed bathroom feature. The operator’s description gives specific evidence for the renovation’s design direction without requiring a claim that every suite has the same layout.

The route to the room also changed

Contractor PARIC’s project record expands the story beyond guestroom finishes. The firm says it performed demolition, drywall work, and furniture, fixture and equipment installations, with upgrades to twenty-one corridors and lift lobbies.

That scope matters because a hotel renovation is experienced as a sequence. Guests pass from a lift lobby through a corridor before entering the room. Updating those connecting spaces helps carry the new interior language through the building rather than confining it behind suite doors.

PARIC’s page also covers other Ameristar projects, including the Charter 18 Modern Tavern conversion. Its six-month completion statement appears with that tavern project, so it should not be reassigned to the 397-suite renovation. The room announcement and contractor’s scope establish what was changed; they do not supply an unambiguous suite-by-suite construction timetable.

The clearest insight is the breadth of the refresh: redesigned furniture and lighting within the suites, supported by work on the shared circulation spaces that lead to them.
