Okada Manila: the property and its location

Property and location research updated 26 October 2026.

A large integrated resort in Entertainment City

Okada Manila combines hotel accommodation, a casino, restaurants, retail and event spaces within Entertainment City. The operator describes a 30-hectare property, with The Fountain, Cove Manila and The Promenade among its recognisable components. Although gaming is part of the business, the building also accommodates visitors attending events, dining or staying in the hotel.

The range of activities matters when interpreting descriptions of the resort. A concert audience, conference delegate and hotel guest may use different facilities and entrances. The operator’s current overview also identifies wellness spaces and separate children’s activities, but these do not imply access to gaming areas. It is more helpful to identify the relevant venue within the property than to assume that every visitor uses the same part of the complex.

The opening sequence in 2016 and 2017

Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment records the initial preview of Okada Manila on 21 December 2016 and the start of casino operations on 30 December. The Fountain followed, with an unveiling on 31 March 2017 and a public debut the next day. These are separate milestones in the development of the property, not competing versions of one opening date.

The sequence shows how an integrated resort can come into use in stages. The casino opening did not mean that every later attraction was already operating. For historical comparisons, it is therefore important to attach a date to the specific component being discussed. This approach is especially useful when reading early photographs, construction accounts or reviews describing a property that was still developing its present mix of uses.

The Fountain as a designed performance

The Fountain sits within the setting formed by the Crystal Corridor and Crystal Pavilion. The operator credits WET with its design and describes a choreographed combination of water, light and sound. Moving underwater equipment, jets, lighting and speakers work together to turn the basin into a performance space rather than a static ornamental pool.

This provides a distinctive way to understand the resort’s central public image. The spectacle is an engineered production, with musical programming and coordinated equipment, not a natural water feature. The operator publishes the current performance schedule, which should be checked separately from hotel or casino hours. A photograph captures only one moment in a changing sequence, and an old video cannot establish which music or show arrangements are being used today.

Cove Manila’s current event role

Cove Manila is described on the current venue page as a climate-controlled, column-free event space beneath a protective glass dome. Its facilities include a pool, lounge and dining areas, cabanas and a deck facing Manila Bay. The enclosure creates a setting that combines the visual language of an outdoor resort with an indoor production environment.

The operator now presents the space for concerts, festivals, brand showcases and private celebrations. That is more precise than assuming an old description of a nightly club programme still applies unchanged. A particular event determines its own layout and access arrangements. Capacity also depends on the configuration, so organisers should confirm the actual production plan rather than treat a single published maximum as suitable for every seated or standing event.

The technology behind an earlier production installation

ULA Group’s May 2018 project account documents the installation of VuePix video screens at Cove Manila. The supplier describes separate screen arrangements for the nightclub and beach-club areas, with brightness sensors helping the latter respond to changing ambient light. It also explains that some screens could be rearranged to create different visual backdrops.

This is valuable primary evidence of an entertainment-technology installation, but it is historical. It does not establish the exact equipment inventory available to an event organiser in 2026. Its broader significance is the production flexibility behind the dome’s appearance: screens, control systems and adaptable configurations supported different kinds of performance. A current technical specification and site inspection would still be needed before designing a new event around particular equipment.

The Garden and the bay-facing setting

The Garden is an outdoor landscaped area that the operator presents as a setting for events and views towards Manila Bay. Its planted spaces provide a different environment from the enclosed dome and the casino interiors. The contrast between greenery, open sky and large built spaces is an important part of the resort’s physical character.

The venue page divides the garden into possible event settings rather than describing one fixed auditorium. This makes its use dependent on the occasion and arrangements made for it. The bay-facing outlook is a geographical feature; weather, visibility and the timing of a visit determine the actual view. It should not be interpreted as a guarantee of a particular sunset photograph.

Locating the resort within Metro Manila

The official address is New Seaside Drive, Entertainment City, Parañaque City, Metro Manila. The Parañaque designation is important: the hotel’s Manila name refers to the broader metropolitan destination, not an address within the historic City of Manila. The operator’s transport page places the resort near Ninoy Aquino International Airport and offers information on transfers.

Airport proximity should not be converted into a guaranteed driving time. The relevant terminal, road conditions and chosen arrival point all affect a journey. When arranging transport, use the complete address and specify the hotel or event destination. A resort of this scale can have several useful meeting points, so a precise arrival plan is more practical than simply asking to be dropped at Okada.

A broader cultural visit in Manila

The National Museum of Fine Arts occupies the Old Legislative Building on Padre Burgos Street in Manila, requiring a separate journey from Parañaque. Its galleries combine Filipino painting, sculpture and printmaking with a civic architectural setting. The museum dates construction to 1918–1926 and records later wartime reconstruction. Courtyards, columns and former legislative chambers provide a contrast to Entertainment City’s contemporary resort landscape.

Different identities within the hotel wings

The resort’s interiors are not uniform across its hotel wings. Universal Entertainment’s property account describes the Pearl Wing lobby through pink, plum and gold tones, while the Coral Wing combines chandeliers with a floral mosaic incorporating a dragonfly and butterfly. Meeting rooms are provided in both wings. These details help explain why photographs of one entrance may not resemble another part of the same complex. For an arranged meeting, identifying the wing is more useful than simply naming the resort.
