Solaire Resort Entertainment City: the property and its location

Property and location research updated 26 October 2026.

Solaire beside Manila Bay

Solaire Resort Entertainment City stands at 1 Asean Avenue in Tambo, Parañaque, on the Manila Bay side of Metro Manila. The full property name matters: this is the Entertainment City resort, not the separate Solaire property in Quezon City. Its two towers combine accommodation with restaurants, entertainment and gaming, making it a multi-purpose destination rather than simply a casino with adjoining rooms. The operator places it near SM Mall of Asia and other commercial districts, but proximity should not be confused with a guaranteed journey time. For a visitor planning around a performance, meeting or meal, the exact venue within the resort is the useful destination to identify. Manila Bay gives the property its coastal orientation, while the metropolitan setting keeps it connected to a much wider urban itinerary.

Bay Tower and Sky Tower developed in stages

Bloomberry's corporate filing dates the start of commercial operations to 16 March 2013, when the first phase, now called Bay Tower, opened with its hotel, main gaming area and initial restaurants. Sky Tower followed on 22 November 2014, adjoining the original tower and extending the property with suites, meeting facilities and a theatre. This sequence explains why Solaire contains several different hospitality environments rather than one building conceived as an unchanging whole. The filing also records the Grand Ballroom's move to a new location at The Shoppes in December 2023. Historical room totals, venue capacities and outlet names should therefore be treated as snapshots of particular phases. The two-tower identity remains a useful way to navigate the resort, but an old photograph is not a complete guide to its present arrangements.

A performing-arts venue within the resort

The Theatre is one of the property's most distinctive non-gaming facilities. Its current official description presents it as a venue for musicals, plays and concerts involving local and international performers. This gives Solaire a role in Metro Manila's performing-arts circuit beyond its hotel and casino functions. The theatre programme is a calendar of individual productions, not a permanent show that can be assumed to run every evening. Someone visiting specifically for a performance should check the named event, date and entrance details rather than rely on a general resort listing. The auditorium is also different from a bar offering background music: it is a dedicated performance space. That distinction is important when deciding how much time to allocate and whether the visit is centred on theatre, dining or accommodation.

Glass installations and the art collection

Solaire's art-tour information draws attention to objects that might otherwise be passed on the way to a restaurant or lift. In the main lobby, Leaf is attributed to Lasvit designer Katarína Kudějová Fulínová and is made from hand-blown Bohemian crystal glass. Its suspended, spiralling forms introduce a sculptural element into the circulation space. The same guide identifies a crystal dragon at Dragon Bar and The Sun Rises, an installation assembled from hand-blown glass components extending between levels. These are useful landmarks as well as decorative commissions. The operator attaches symbolic meanings to some pieces, but those should not be treated as promises of luck or financial outcomes. Looking at materials, authorship and placement provides a more grounded way to appreciate the collection during a resort visit.

Dining as a collection of distinct venues

The restaurant directory separates signature dining, casual outlets, cafés and bars. Finestra is associated with Italian cooking, Yakumi with Japanese cuisine and Red Lantern with Chinese dishes. Other choices include Waterside, Fresh, Lucky Noodles, a food court and Oasis Garden Café. The value of this range is not that every outlet offers the same experience, but that the property can accommodate different kinds of gathering. A formal dinner, a quick meal before a show and a coffee meeting require different settings. Visitors should choose the particular restaurant first rather than use the resort name as a substitute for a dining plan. Current menus can establish what is available on the day; this overview does not infer dietary suitability, service quality or a fixed price from promotional descriptions.

Meetings and large gatherings

Solaire's events directory includes The Forums, the Grand Ballroom and The Theatre, indicating that business and social events are substantial parts of the property's operation. The current Grand Ballroom listing describes a 2,400-square-metre space. That floor area is a useful indication of scale, but it does not establish the suitable capacity for every seating arrangement or production. The Forums offer a different meeting environment, while a theatre has its own stage and audience requirements. Organisers should therefore distinguish the spaces when discussing audiovisual needs, circulation, catering and accessibility. For an attendee, confirming the named room before arrival is more useful than simply knowing that an event takes place at Solaire. The wider resort can support a meeting itinerary, but accommodation and restaurant arrangements remain separate practical decisions.

Wellness facilities and changing amenities

The wellness offering includes a spa and salon, with dry sauna, steam-room and Jacuzzi facilities listed separately in the operator's information. Their published operating periods are not all identical, which is a reminder that a large resort does not run every service on the casino's timetable. Treatments and access arrangements should be checked directly for the intended visit rather than assumed from the presence of a hotel reservation. The same page refers to the Solaire Sports Club as opening soon at the research date, so it should not be counted as a confirmed operating amenity here. Separating existing facilities from forthcoming ones makes the description more useful than repeating an undated list of everything mentioned on the website.

Connecting the resort with Manila’s cultural history

Beyond Entertainment City, the National Museum of Fine Arts offers a different perspective on Manila through both its collections and its building. It occupies the former Legislative Building on Padre Burgos Street, constructed between 1918 and 1926 and substantially rebuilt after wartime damage. The museum credits Ralph Harrington Doane, Antonio Mañalac Toledo and Juan M. Arellano in its architectural history. Corinthian columns, courtyards and the former Senate spaces connect the museum to the country's civic past. It is a separate city excursion, not an attraction inside Solaire. Pairing the two settings highlights the contrast between contemporary resort development and the institutional architecture of historic Manila. Its collections include painting, sculpture and graphic arts.
