Le Touquet’s casino history can be traced through buildings, but its latest chapter also has a cultural timetable. Barrière says the municipal council voted on 15 December 2025 to renew the casino’s public-service delegation for twelve years from 1 July 2026. The programme includes at least eight shows annually at the Palais des Congrès.
The operator’s announcement also proposes a redesigned visitor route, a new bar and restaurant, and changes to gaming equipment. These are commitments in an announced programme; the release does not establish that every space has already been completed.
A site assembled in stages
The Ministry of Culture’s architectural record dates Auguste Bluysen’s Casino de la Forêt to 1913, on the site of the large house Daloz had built in 1864. It records further changes in 1925 and Raoul Jourde’s restaurant extension in 1926. The restaurant and portico gallery described in that historical scheme no longer exist, and the ensemble was reworked in 1950 and afterwards.
An archived plan shows a hall distributing visitors toward dancing, theatre and gaming rooms. Bluysen’s picturesque treatment used imitation timber framing, while Jourde’s restaurant expressed reinforced-concrete construction in an Art Deco vocabulary and admitted light from above. Different design languages were part of the same leisure programme.
The useful connection with the new agreement is the continuing combination of hospitality and performance. A casino site can support a cultural programme through rooms, commercial operations and an operating contract. The annual-show commitment makes that relationship more concrete than a general description of the property as an entertainment venue.
It also leaves a clear test for future reporting: distinguish the promised programme from performances actually announced, and newly proposed rooms from completed work. The long architectural history explains the setting; the current agreement supplies a separate account of what the operator has committed to provide.
