The Grand Ho Tram Casino: the property and its location
Property and location research updated 26 October 2026.
A coastal resort with several identities
The Grand Ho Tram Casino belongs to a coastal development, not a standalone building in central Ho Chi Minh City. The developer's corporate information describes a resort assembled in phases on a beachfront site of 164 hectares. Its components include hotel accommodation, residential-style stays, golf and entertainment. The current address is Ho Tram Hamlet, Ho Tram Commune, Ho Chi Minh City, with the operator also identifying the former Ba Ria–Vung Tau province in its contact information. That administrative address should not obscure the geography: this is a coastal destination separate from the metropolis's central districts. Understanding the wider complex is essential when comparing hotel listings, because different brands within it refer to different accommodation products rather than to alternative names for the same room inventory.

The InterContinental tower
InterContinental Grand Ho Tram is one of the resort's principal hotel components. Its current official page lists 538 rooms and distinguishes views towards the sea from views over the sand dunes associated with The Bluffs golf course. That difference gives a more useful sense of the accommodation than an assumption that every room faces the beach. The operator places the resort along 2.2 kilometres of coastline and describes access to the wider complex's dining and entertainment. Pools, fitness facilities and a spa contribute to the hotel's leisure identity, but the tower remains one element within a broader destination. A visitor should keep the specific hotel name alongside The Grand Ho Tram when checking arrival instructions or meeting friends, particularly when several parties are staying under different brands.

How the hotel brands became part of the destination
IHG announced agreements with Ho Tram Project Company in November 2019 to rebrand the existing Grand Ho Tram hotel as an InterContinental and develop a Holiday Inn Resort tower. The announcement is useful historical evidence of the resort's change in positioning, combining a luxury hotel identity with a more family-oriented accommodation offer. Its proposed opening dates and projected room figures belong to that announcement, however, rather than serving as a current inventory. This distinction between an agreement, a projected opening and the present hotel offering helps explain why older articles can use different names and totals. The destination evolved through separate projects, so its history is better read as a sequence of developments than as one simultaneous launch.

Residences and villas at Ixora
The Ixora website now presents two related properties within The Grand Ho Tram destination: Ixora Ho Tram by Fusion and Ixora Grand Ho Tram by Fusion. The first is described through its residences and private villas, while the second offers a larger resort setting for holidays and gatherings. Both retain a beachfront focus and a relationship with the nearby Bluffs course and the wider entertainment precinct. This adds another accommodation model alongside the hotel towers. A residence or villa can mean a different layout and group arrangement, but the brand description alone should not be used to infer that every unit has the same facilities. For navigation and planning, the specific Ixora property and accommodation category matter more than simply saying that a group is staying at Ho Tram.

The dunes and The Bluffs
The Bluffs gives the development a landscape identity that extends beyond its hotel façades. Designed by Greg Norman, the course is described by its operator as a links-style layout routed around coastal sand dunes, with forest forming part of the surrounding backdrop. The terrain therefore contributes to both the visual setting and the way the golf course is arranged. Even for someone not playing golf, knowing that the dunes are a defining feature helps explain the views advertised by neighbouring accommodation. The course and casino are distinct facilities within the broader resort story; one should not be treated as a reason to participate in the other. This description avoids repeating shifting rankings and awards, focusing instead on the named designer, coastal landform and relationship to the hotel complex.

A convention destination as well as a leisure resort
The Grand Ho Tram's events information describes a convention centre, meeting rooms and a pillarless ballroom of 1,254 square metres. It also presents beachfront settings for celebrations, giving organisers a choice between an indoor event environment and an outdoor coastal one. Those options explain why a large group might visit for business or a wedding without centring the stay on the casino. The ballroom's area is not a universal capacity figure: staging, tables, circulation and production requirements change what a room can accommodate. Delegates should confirm which hotel and event space are named on their arrangements, because the destination contains several accommodation brands. The resort's own event team can clarify the relationship between the meeting venue, catering and the selected accommodation rather than leaving those connections to inference.

Planning the journey from the city
The resort's current travel information places it approximately 120 kilometres from central Ho Chi Minh City and about 130 kilometres from Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Those distances help explain why it should be planned as a coastal journey rather than a quick city-centre stop. The operator lists shuttle collection points at the Vinatex Building on Vo Van Kiet and The Panorama in Tan Hung, with advance arrangements and seat availability applying. It also records a pickup-location update effective July 2026, so old transfer instructions may be out of date. When coordinating a meeting or flight, leave the transport plan separate from assumptions about resort check-in or event timing. The operator also places Binh Chau hot springs roughly twenty-five kilometres away.

Looking beyond the resort boundary
Vietnam's national tourism website places Ho Tram within a broader coastal itinerary that includes Vung Tau, the Phuoc Buu nature reserve and Binh Chau's mineral springs. It also describes regional food traditions such as bánh khọt, small savoury cakes commonly served with shrimp, herbs and dipping sauce. These details offer a useful counterpoint to the internationally branded hotel environment. Vung Tau's Villa Blanche provides a historical excursion into the colonial period, while the surrounding coast offers a different landscape from the metropolis inland. These are separate destinations requiring their own transport and visiting arrangements, not facilities included within the casino resort. They help locate The Grand Ho Tram in a living coastal region rather than presenting it as a self-contained substitute for southern Vietnam.
