Resorts Casino Hotel: the property and its location
Property and location research updated 26 October 2026.
A Boardwalk address with a long casino history
Resorts Casino Hotel stands at 1133 Boardwalk in Atlantic City's North Beach area. Its casino opened on May 26, 1978, giving the property a place in the city's tourism history. Today the operator describes 942 rooms and suites across two towers, alongside restaurants, theatres, a casino and meeting facilities. The result is not simply a preserved historic hotel, but a working resort with several generations of accommodation and public space. Its Boardwalk position makes the oceanfront part of the everyday setting, rather than a separate trip across the city. For visitors, the useful starting point is this combination of history and continuing operation: older architectural connections coexist with contemporary room categories, entertainment programmes and services that need checking individually.

The hotel story began before casino gaming
The Atlantic City Free Public Library's archival account traces part of the site's hotel lineage through Chalfonte and Haddon Hall. Chalfonte began in 1868 as a three-storey boardinghouse owned by Elisha and Elizabeth Roberts. Its building was moved toward the ocean more than once before being rebuilt in 1904 under Leeds and Lippincott ownership. That company had acquired Haddon Hall in 1890 and Chalfonte in 1900, bringing the two hotels together. The library identifies surviving parts of Haddon Hall within present-day Resorts. This history explains why the property cannot be understood solely through its 1978 casino opening. Its earlier identity belongs to the era of seaside hotels, changing shorelines and expanding Boardwalk tourism, long before today's casino and entertainment districts took their current form.

Two towers offer different accommodation choices
Resorts distinguishes the Rendezvous Tower from the Ocean Tower rather than presenting a single uniform room inventory. The current room guide describes standard Rendezvous accommodation ranging from 512 to 576 square feet, with larger bathrooms and different bedding options. It also lists suites with separate sitting and dining areas. Ocean Tower accommodation is presented in relation to its proximity to the beach and Boardwalk. These descriptions are useful for comparing space and location within the building, but they should not be stretched into a promise that every category has the same bathroom, view or furnishings. Smoking and non-smoking choices are separately identified in some listings. A clear inquiry should therefore combine tower, category, bedding and personal requirements instead of relying on the general word deluxe or a promotional photograph.

A rooftop pool with clearly divided sessions
The pool is on the Ocean Tower's third floor and uses a retractable roof to support year-round indoor and outdoor operation. Its official description identifies a saltwater pool with views toward the beach and Boardwalk. The published schedule, updated September 30, 2026, divides the day into family swimming in the morning and adult swimming from two in the afternoon. Children under eighteen must be accompanied by an adult, and admission is tied to the registered occupancy of the corresponding room. The pool bar is separately marked closed for the season. Those details matter more than the generic promise of a rooftop pool: a family arriving later in the day cannot assume the same access as a morning visitor. Groups should confirm their own arrangements separately.

Capriccio and the importance of current hours
Capriccio is the property's fine-dining Italian restaurant, with an old-world-inspired room overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Boardwalk. Its menu presentation includes pasta, veal, steak, soups and salads, giving it a different role from the resort's food court or casual cafés. The current timetable is particularly important: an October 14, 2026 update lists dinner on Fridays and Saturdays, with Sunday through Thursday closed. A venue can remain a prominent part of the hotel's identity without serving every evening. The page also publishes separate holiday exceptions, so a future celebration should be checked against its actual date. For a visitor planning around a performance, the dining room's setting and service window are useful facts; promotional awards should not substitute for a current menu or confirmed reservation.

A theatre whose history is not its current programme
The Superstar Theater is part of Resorts' entertainment identity. The operator names performers from its history including Frank Sinatra, Dolly Parton, Cher, Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin. These names describe past appearances, not a present-day lineup or implied continuing residency. Current shows are listed separately through the venue's dated events calendar, which is the appropriate place to check a particular performance. That separation matters at a long-established resort, where nostalgia can easily be mistaken for an available experience. A theatre visit also differs from stopping at a lounge with background music: ticketing, start times and the exact venue should be confirmed. The presence of a hotel in the same complex can simplify an evening's logistics without making admission part of the room reservation.

Beach access and the North Beach neighbourhood
Resorts' beachfront page places the public Boardwalk and sand immediately outside the property. It identifies access across the promenade near LandShark Bar and Grill, which forms part of the hotel's beach-facing food and drink offering. The page distinguishes permanent hospitality space from seasonal additions such as the beach stage, rentals and some Boardwalk bars. That distinction is important outside summer: a restaurant remaining open does not mean every beach service is operating. The surrounding North Beach area can be explored independently of the casino, with the promenade providing a shared route between neighbouring attractions and hotels. The coastline is therefore both a location advantage and a separate public environment. Visitors should use current beach information rather than infer swimming conditions or available services from resort advertising.

Arrival and parking need their own checks
The operator's arrival guide separates the parking garage from the surface lot opposite the main lobby. The garage is listed as open around the clock, while the surface lot has a more limited published operating pattern. Parking is cashless, so visitors should not arrive assuming that cash payment will be accepted at the exit. Electric-vehicle charging is identified in the surface lot, with availability and current arrangements referred to ChargePoint. These details are practical rather than glamorous, but they can affect how easily a visit begins. A hotel's beachfront postal address also differs from the entrance a driver needs for parking or luggage. Confirm the intended arrival point and current access arrangements, particularly if the visit includes mobility equipment, a group arrival or an event with a fixed start time.
