Casino Partouche Middelkerke: the property and its location

Property and location research updated 26 October 2026.

A casino on the Belgian seafront

Casino Middelkerke occupies the SILT complex at 117A Zeedijk, on the town's North Sea frontage. Partouche's current directory identifies gaming rooms, the restaurant Zjìno, Cabaret NU and Club NU as parts of its entertainment offering. The property should not be confused with a freestanding inland casino simply because older listings retain a different address. Its immediate setting is now a substantial mixed-use seafront building. The operator states that casino entry is restricted to people aged twenty-one and over, with identification requirements. That is the venue's published admission information, not a blanket description of access to every space in SILT.

A return to the waterfront

Partouche's 2025 annual report explains the transition behind the present address. Belcasinos, an indirect group subsidiary, received the new concession from July 2022. During redevelopment, the operation used temporary premises at an outlying hotel before moving back to the seafront in late March 2024. This sequence matters when comparing photographs, directions and customer accounts: a review of the temporary operation may describe a different building entirely. The current casino is therefore best understood through its SILT location rather than by combining every older reference into one description. Historical operating arrangements do not establish today's room layout or visitor experience.

Landscape rather than a conventional podium

Landscape practice DELVA records SILT's opening on 22 March 2024. Its account names DELVA and ZJA, working with OZ, Bureau Bouwtechniek and other specialists in the Nautilus team. The designers drew on the former island of Testerep, particularly its relationship between dunes and channels. Instead of treating the building and landscape as unrelated elements, they placed the hotel tower within a shaped coastal setting containing the casino, restaurant, event space and underground parking. That approach explains the project's low, flowing base and prominent tower. It also makes the public surroundings an important part of understanding the development, rather than merely an approach to its entrance.

A complex building to deliver

Bureau Bouwtechniek's July 2024 project account describes the practical challenge of turning SILT's curved design into a working building. Its team supported the design architect with technical coordination and construction oversight, while specialist modelling addressed geometry with few straightforward straight elements. Energy advisers and safety coordination also formed part of the delivery team. For an architecture-minded visitor, this is useful context for the unusual silhouette: its appearance reflects considerable coordination beneath the visible surfaces. The account is evidence of the team's responsibilities, not an independent sustainability certification or a guarantee about every aspect of the completed building's performance.

Coastal protection within the project

The Flemish Agency for Maritime and Coastal Services discussed the casino development in an April 2024 announcement about coastal protection. Its account places the building within a wider intervention incorporating a green dune-like roof landscape and a seaward extension designed to reduce wave impact. This is a different perspective from a hotel brochure: the development also addresses the physical exposure of the shoreline. Such infrastructure does not remove the need to heed local weather warnings or restrictions along the promenade. The agency's historical announcement explains the project's coastal role; it should not be read as a forecast of conditions on any particular day.

Accommodation has its own operator

C-Hotels operates the four-star SILT hotel and describes seventy-three rooms with sea views, together with breakfast and wellness facilities. Hotel services should be distinguished from casino admission or a cabaret ticket; sharing a building does not make them one interchangeable product. The hotel identifies Epernayplein as its pedestrian arrival setting and directs drivers to underground parking at Leopoldlaan 48. Its hotel parking is on level minus two, with lift access to reception and rooms. For rail travellers, the published route is via Ostend station and the coastal tram to Epernayplein. Check the hotel directly for room accessibility and service arrangements.

Understanding the parking levels

Middelkerke's published parking information covers the public garage on level minus one, distinguishing it from the hotel's arrangements on the level below. The municipal document describes twenty-four-hour vehicle access, paid short-stay parking and a separate event-ticket arrangement. It also identifies charging facilities. These details are more useful than assuming that parking advertised beside a casino is automatically complimentary. Drivers attending an event should establish which ticket or reservation applies before arrival, particularly where a hotel stay is not involved. The distinction between public, hotel and event arrangements helps avoid arriving at the correct complex with the wrong parking expectation.

Cabaret alongside the casino

Cabaret NU is a separate strand of the property's programme. The operator's Red Velvet Nights page describes an evening show with an interval and publishes doors and performance times. It also states an eighteen-and-over admission condition for that cabaret, which differs from the twenty-one-and-over casino rule. Visitors should therefore use the conditions attached to their particular event, rather than treating all entertainment in the building as subject to identical access. The page lists autumn dates but does not state their year in its main text. For that reason, this description does not present those dates as a fully verified future schedule.

Testerep beyond the architectural reference

Testerep also appears in the surrounding coast's cultural and recreational landscape. Ostend's municipal information identifies a Testerep play woodland within the provincial Raversyde domain, at Duinenstraat 127 in Ostend. It describes paths, timber figures and a medieval-themed shelter in a nature-play setting maintained by the Province of West Flanders. This is a separate destination in the neighbouring municipality, not a garden belonging to the casino. Its inclusion helps connect SILT's historical landscape inspiration with places beyond the building itself. Anyone extending a coastal visit should plan the journey separately rather than assume every attraction associated with Testerep lies beside the entrance.

A separate heritage stop at Raversyde

Raversyde's own website brings together heritage and outdoor activities, including its Testerep Adventure and family-oriented historical interpretation. The site's calendar is important: it publishes opening information and a last-admission requirement well before closing. This is not an attraction to treat as continuously available simply because a coastal promenade is accessible. Consult the calendar for the intended day and allow enough time for admission and the visit. Together, the separate heritage destination and SILT's contemporary architecture offer contrasting ways to understand the coast, without implying that the casino operates either the provincial domain or its activities.
